From June 2007 following the retirement from New Ross of Reverend
Paul Mooney, Séan Reidy, CEO JFK Trust was elected Chairman
of the Board of Directors of the Ros Tapestry Project.
The Board of Directors and the Ros Tapestry Embroiderers wish Reverend
Paul Mooney the best of luck in his new position in Korea.

ROS
TAPESTRY 800 EXPO
Friday 7th, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th September 2007
The
Ros Tapestry Project announces The Ros Tapestry 800 Expo. This inaugural
Norman Festival will take place in New Ross Town, Co.Wexford from
8th to 10th September 2007.
The
Ros Tapestry 800 Expo is a weekend event which will showcase the
entire Ros Tapestry Project and celebrate the 800th Anniversary
of the town of New Ross.
The
Ros Tapestry Exhibition will be launched and these tapestries and
cartoons depicting the founding of the town of New Ross and associated
historic events will be on view altogether to the general public
for the first time ever.
New
Ross Town will be the venue for an historic re-enactment of the
founding of the town of New Ross in 1207 by William Marshal and
this re-enactment will spill out on the streets of the town over
the weekend.

President
Mary McAleese unveiled the fourth completed tapestry in the ruins
of St. Marys Church on 23rd Jan to a packed capacity crowd
which included most of the hundred voluntary embroiderers working
on the remaining eleven panels. This lively colourful panel portrays
New Ross as a bustling European Port with Bankers ,Wine Merchants
and all manner of Traders negotiating and going about their business.
This unveiling was the culmination of three years of sheer dedication
and commitment by the hard-working team of women at Clonroche, Co
Wexford. We are extremely grateful for their achievement.

Festival 21st -23rd July 2006
The
Ros Tapestry Project presents Three completed tapestries on display
in St. Mary's Church, New Ross
on Saturday 22nd July from 11.00am-6.00pm
and Sunday 23rd July from 1.30am-6.00pm
The
three tapestries, namely,
- The
Hunt in the Forest of Ros
- Evening:
The Lighthouse at Hook Head
- Gothic
Glory: The building of the parish church of St. Mary's in 1210
This
marks the first occasion when three tapestries will be displayed
together as previously it has only been possible to display them
individually. With the passage of time the Project is nearing
completion and this display brings us closer to this realisation.

Yet
again Music for New Ross is hosting a social event in
aid of the Ros Tapestry. They have secured renowned jazz pianist,
Judy Carmichael from the United States for her only Irish performance
following her London show. This promises to be a great evenings
entertainment.

We
are very pleased to welcome a new group of volunteer stitchers to
the Ros Tapestry Project. They will begin training under Alexis Bernstorff
in December of this year and will commence working on the next panel;
" The Siege of Wexford" early next year. |

We
were thrilled to have a 14 page feature of the Ros Tapestry Project
in the Autumn Irish Arts Review, where Peter Pearson "discusses
the epic embroidered narrative under way in County Wexford that documents

panel "Gothic Glory, The Building of the Parish Church in
St. Mary's in 1210" was successfully completed and launched
to the public in July. This now brings the number of completed panels
to three, so congratulations to everyone involved for all their hard
