January 2007

President Mary McAleese unveiled the fourth completed tapestry in the ruins of St. Mary’s Church on 23rd Jan to a packed capacity crowd which included most of the hundred voluntary embroiderers working on the remaining eleven panels. This lively colourful panel portrays New Ross as a bustling European Port with Bankers ,Wine Merchants and all manner of Traders negotiating and going about their business. This unveiling was the culmination of three years of sheer dedication and commitment by the hard-working team of women at Clonroche, Co Wexford. We are extremely grateful for their achievement.
